Our apartment is located in the alpine resort "Carpe Solem" in the center of Mariapfarr, a new resort that has been built on the basis of a former ancient inn firstly mentioned in the 13th century and with a direct and free access to the alpine Wellness Center "Samsunn". The village itself is located in the heart of the Salzburg Region "Lungau" and sits at 1.119m above sea level between Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia. Mariapfarr is famous being one of the Austrian villages with the most sunshine hours per year and also well known for it´s health supporting mountain climate. 

During winter, Mariapfarr is in the center of the skiing region Lungo, several skiing resorts such as Fanningberg, Grosseck-Speiereck, Katschberg, Aineck and the party location Obertauern are surrounding Mariapfarr. Many other acitivities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoing or tobogganing are offered. In summer many hiking- and mountainbike trails, horse riding tracks and several educational trails wait for you to be discovered. Also mushroom lovers will be rewarded in late summer, but where to pick them remains a secret...…

Golfers find a beautiful and challenging 18-hole course including excellent practice areas in St. Michael (GC Lungau), just a few minutes away from Mariapfarr, additional courses can be found within a radius of less than 40 km.  Anglers will enjoy their Hobby when fly-fishing along the gorgeous small river Longa. Additionally, guests can enjoy traditional regional events such as "Samson"-parades, exploring several pilgrim routes or visiting the „Silent Night Museum“. 

A fascinating and pristine nature expects you - sustainability, regionality and tradition are important values in this Austrian region. The alpine charme will enchant you quickly - a wonderland for winter-lovers as well as a hotspot for mountainbikers, hikers.
